Focus this Month: Releasing jaw tension.

This class will bring an easy awareness to jaw tension throughout the warm up and various ways to release it will be explored. Releasing jaw tension can also ease headaches, teeth-grinding and TMJ.

Toronto, Montreal & Boston.

Straeon Acting Studios

offers a two day Voice Intensive in Montreal taught by

Actor / Designated Linklater Voice Teacher

Sarah Weatherwax.

VOICE & BODY – Fri. April 28, 2017, 9:30am to 4:00pm.

Learn body/voice exercises designed to relax and energize for work as well as some quick ways to prepare for auditions and performances. Exercises taught will address spinal awareness and breath awareness all the way through to range and articulation with everything in between: jaw, tongue, soft palate exercises, breathing power and resonator warm-ups.

VOICE & TEXT, Sat. April 29, 2017, 9:30am to 4:00pm.

After starting the day with a very complete body and voice warm up, each student will receive in-depth, individual text coaching time. Group text exercises will also be explored. All coaching will come from a voice & body point of view. This workshop enables students to experience the direct application of Linklater voice work to acting text.

With a free voice an actor is more expressive and transformative. Physical and vocal character choices open up. Accents are more believable. It is easier to be more fully present, listen clearly and quickly access emotion, creativity and instinct.

Intended for career performers and career-minded actors/singers in training.  No previous experience with this method is required.
